At Hancock Law, we believe in representing our clients with compassion, empathy, and skill to achieve the best possible results. Every member of our team is instrumental in the success of our clients. We know that a strong legal team requires an infrangible attorney-paralegal relationship. November is National Gratitude Month, and Hancock Law is grateful to have Carly Pizzurro be our litigation paralegal.
A: I am originally from Long Island, New York, but I’ve been a resident of Florida since 2006. I moved here with my husband, and together we have two sons. One is 13 years old and the other is 11. They fight sometimes but are the best of friends. I also have a love for fitness. When I’m not helping our clients at Hancock Law, I am a personal trainer and teach boot camps. I also run 5Ks throughout the community for charity.
A: My role at Hancock Law is personal injury Litigation Paralegal. Interestingly, I initially studied education in college. After moving to Florida, I gravitated toward something different and found an administrative assistant role. In time, I fell into Hancock Law after Kenneth reached out to me. We often joke about how it was ‘meant to be’ that I join the team.
I wish found being a litigation paralegal sooner in my career because I love it. Helping others has always been a priority for me, so while my career started through helping students, today, I get to help our clients and give them peace of mind throughout the process.
A: A litigation paralegal comes into play once a lawsuit is filed. So whereas our clients work closely with our paralegal Brandy pre-suit, the case file comes into my hands once the lawsuit is filed. From there, Kenneth and I work together in preparation for discovery, depositions, witness prep, and research. I ensure all the legal documents are prepared for him to review and keep in near-constant communication with clients to ensure they feel prepared and know what to expect. Litigation is also very deadline-oriented — which I very much enjoy — meaning that I may only have 30 days to file something to the court, which further enforces the need for consistent communication between attorneys, clients, and paralegals.
A: We truly have an amazing team here. Kenneth has built a firm intent on doing right by clients and giving back. Part of that is providing our services with no charges upfront, only being paid once recovery is secured for our clients. Additionally, as I mentioned I run 5Ks, the firm has actually joined in on a few as well. We aim to do community events twice a year. In the past, they’ve supported causes like breast cancer awareness, Backpacks for Kids, and more. I’m proud to be on a team that cares about getting involved and giving back.
I must say I love what I do — I’m not just saying that. I love being a part of helping people through the legal field. My role on the team also means I spend a lot of time with our clients. One of our strongest values is to do what’s best for the client — whether it’s a settlement, getting an accident-related treatment bill marked down, or providing a sympathetic ear to listen and guide them through the process. Being on the frontlines with our clients, who are not at fault in their accidents, allows me to have a big role in that. So I can’t say it enough, I love what I do and I love coming in every day.
Hancock Law is proud to have Carly on our team and is deeply appreciative of her dedication to the firm and our clients.
